Converting 3GP TO FLAC

Converting one file format to another may be necessary for various reasons. So, for example, you may want to convert 3GP to FLAC if your computer, phone or other device does not support 3GP format. Also, conversion is often required to reduce the file size, since the original format takes up too much space in the device's memory. Perhaps you just need to extract the audio track from the video file, in which case converting the video to audio format is a good option. In any case, with the help of our converter, you can easily complete the required task. Below you can find out some details about the original and new file formats.

The 3GP file contains multimedia data in an audio and video container format developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) consortium for mobile telephony. It is used to transfer audio and video over the Internet, as well as save videos captured on a mobile device. The finished video clips in 3GP have a small size compared to similar videos in other formats, however, this is justified by a rather low quality, for example, often many frames are presented in the form of colored squares. This format is used to play videos, most often on mobile phones. Its peculiarity lies in the size of the files being played - it is much smaller than, for example, avi. The disadvantage of 3GP is quality, but it is ideal for playing on mobile phones. A 3gp file is a small footage created for playback on portable devices (phones, smartphones, tablets, etc.).

FLAC or Free Lossless Audio Codec is a free codec designed for lossless compression of audio files. Usually it compresses the original WAV file - and, unlike lossy compression (which is provided by the MP3, AAC, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Opus formats), FLAC does not remove anything from the audio data stream. Thus, you get (with a compatible decoder in the system) perfect quality - and noticeably fewer files. It provides complete safety of all data from the audio stream, is capable of compressing from 1.4 to 4 times with a bit rate of 350-1010 kbps, is used to create audio collections and are used for listening on premium equipment. FLAC is currently the most popular lossless audio compression format. If lossless support is declared for any software or hardware, it is almost certain that this software / hardware can play FLAC. The format is the de facto standard among lovers of high-quality sound. In fact, lossless compression can be compared to the WinRAR archiver, which can compress, for example, a text file absolutely without changing the content, but with a decent change in size downward, in comparison with the original original file. This format implies some compression of information, so the same song in FLAC format can take up to half less memory than in WAV format. However, this compression does not affect the quality of the music in any way. it is not music that is archived, as in MP3 format, but the data and processing takes place according to a different principle.
