In any case, with the help of our converter, you can easily complete the required task. Below you can find out some details about the original and new file formats.

In January 1988, an expert working group on coding of moving images was formed within the framework of the joint information technology technical committee JTC1 of the International Organization for Standardization ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC, which was tasked with developing standards for image and sound coding with the aim of eliminating redundancy. MPEG compression standards were developed by Moving Picture Experts Group. This technology defines the compression standards for both audio and video information and makes it convenient for transmission in broadcast. There are many versions of the format - MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-3, MPEG-4, etc. MPEG-1 is a lossy compression standard for video and audio. It is designed to compress VHS. Perhaps everyone is familiar with the MPEG-2 format. It is this format that underlies DVD-Video discs. The MPEG-2 format is also the basis for digital television standards. The MPEG3 standard was originally developed for use in High Definition Television (HDTV) systems with a data rate of 20-40 Mbps. The new MPEG4 standard, which appeared at the very end of 1999, offers a broader view of media reality. The standard defines the principles for working with content (digital representation of media data) for three areas: interactive multimedia itself (including products distributed on optical discs and over the Internet), graphics applications (synthetic content) and digital television (DTV).

Any phone that supports polyphony allows you to download new melodies or replace those already preinstalled by the manufacturer. There are two main polyphonic ringing formats - mmf (SMAF) and midi. The Synthetic Music Mobile Application Format (SMAF) was developed by Yamaha specifically for mobile phones and PDAs. It determines the order in which multimedia content, including ringing tones and pictures, is created. However, it turned out that it is SMAF that is preferred when creating mobile melodies. They have a .mmf extension, and therefore usually speak of mmf, not SMAF format. The mmf format has become widespread and has almost become the standard for polyphonic melodies. It is used in phones recognized as leaders in the field of polyphony - Samsung, LG, Panasonic, etc. By the way, there is also the vibmmf format, which combines a polyphonic melody and a vibration signal played in time with it. MMF file could be opened by special software. There are 2 types of MMF formats, each of which opens with different programs. To open the required type of format, study the descriptions of the files and download one of the proposed programs. Yamaha SMAF audio file format created for mobile devices. Usually used for mobile phone ringtones, but also supports displaying text and graphics. Can be created from .WAV or .MID files using Yamaha SMAF Tools.
